What is a good non-violent computer game for an 11 year old boy?

Linux and Vista

I have used windows XP for more than 2 years and used Vista over an year, but I started to try out other operating systems in order to replace Windows, Mac OS X is my best liking but i would need to buy a whole new hardware so started trying out Linux. I tried out Fedora and Ubuntu, after using Ubuntu for 6 months running parallel with Vista i have found it so good that now i have completely removed Vista of my laptop and running only Ubuntu (8.10). The biggest reason that i dumped windows is the system crashes. With Ubuntu i have no such worries. The only problem i have with Linux is Vendor/Hardware support. I hope that more and more companies will start making drivers and important software available for linux and as soon as possible.

Third Person Action Games

Anyone know some decent third person action games for the PS2 in the same vein as Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry etc.

It doesn't matter what storyline it has, I just like the gameplay of third person action games.

Hello everyone,

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.

1. Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your head)

2. Key in the first six digits of your mobile number

3. Multiply by 80

4. Add 1

5. Multiply by 250

6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number

7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

8. Subtract 250

9. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer...?

PC SLOW problem

Ok, I’ve heard it all before.

Heres just some tricks I know that can increase your computers performance to new!
You can get any computer to run as good as a new computer, without upgrading, just using some ‘Spring Cleaning’ tips. Sure, at some point in time you’ll have to upgrade the RAM modules, or graphics card, or maybe even purchase a whole new computer package, but this will give you some added performance without spending the extra dollar.

Here we go!

* Uninstall ANY programs you don’t need
* Delete ANY files you don’t need (even if they are 250kb or less) – You can obtain highest disk performance when your hard drive space isn’t over 25% used.
* Use the disk clean-up option in Windows
* Turn off System Restore (if you don’t have any troubles with Windows)
* Use programs like Fast Cleaner - Most of these programs do the same thing, so any cleaning program should do just fine.
* TuneUp Utilities 2009 - Suggested by [TA]BAT
* Uniblue Power Suite - Another program like TuneUp, but this is a lot more advanced, best to have both programs together.
* PC Accelerator - Used by [TA]BAT to speed up his snail.
* Revo Uninstaller - Suggested by Rick, used by many others. Uninstall your programs completely using Revo, not just most of it using Windows uninstaller.

Once you have got rid of as much as you can:

* Defragment your hard drive <- A GOOD solution to speeding up your computer, but only works if you haven’t got a hard drive that’s full of junk

You can also use other ways to increase performance, not by much, but you’ll get that little bit extra by:

* Cleaning out your computer (ONLY if you know what you are doing, if you don’t you can destroy your computer quite easily)
* Supplying adequate cooling, keeping temperatures low, but not freezing.

Hello Everyone !

To download Complete Photo Albums from FaceBook you need Firefox to be installed first. Download the FacePAD Firefox extension. You may get a message block from Firefox .

-right click and allow that.
-Once you have installed - You will need to re-start Firefox to begin using the new extension.

-You will now see FacePAD added to your list of Plugins in Firefox.

-Head over to your friend's profile page and click on Photos. There you will find all the albums of your friends. Simply right click on the photo album and you will now get a new option "Download Album with FacePAD". Go ahead and download the album.

-Currently you get a weird message to indicate that the album download has begun.

-You will now find all the photos of the FaceBook album neatly downloaded to your Hard Disk with absolutely no effort.

-Now that's a really cool app to have. Makes tasks that much more simpler and fun.

If you are a gamer then you better know the value of each and single bit of performance resource. There is a simple way to increase RAM and that is to duplicate or replace it. There is another method without spending a single buck. That is overclocking through PC performance management software. You better be careful with it though. Overclocking a computer's processor or memory causes it to go faster than its factory rated speed. A processor rated at 2.4GHz might be overclocked to 2.5GHz or 2.6GHz, while memory rated at 200MHz might be pushed to 220MHz or higher. The extra speed results in more work being done by the processor and/or memory in a given time period, increasing the overall computing performance of the PC.

I have the latest version of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and I am having a great fun shooting with it. This game is even more fun at playing that its previous ones. The better graphic resolutions just increase the pleasure of playing this game. Hope that this is going to be fun to know what you think about the game?
